Creating an Activity
Classic Interface
The following section describes how to create a new Activity in the Classic Interface of ActivityInfo.
To start collecting data from Users you first need to create an Activity in order to define the data you wish to collect.
Here are some useful facts about Activities:
- You can create and store as many Activities as you want in a Database and you can create Folders to organize them.
- You can then invite Users to that Database and you can assign various Permission Types to Users for each Folder so as to manage and control the Users' access level.
- You can choose to create a Single Reporting Activity or a Monthly Reporting Activity when you are defining the Common Activity Properties.
- Activities are tied to a specific Location Type. The list of possible Locations and Administrative Levels is inherited from the Database's defined country.
- Activities have a defined structure and are composed of one or more Indicators, Attribute Groups and Attributes.
- With Attribute Groups you can create:
- Multiple Selection Questions where Attributes are the possible answers
- Single Selection Questions where Attributes are the possible answers
- With Indicators you can create:
- Quantity Questions
- Text Questions
- Calculated Fields
- During Data Entry, a User will fill out the various Indicators and Attributes defined on your Activity. They will also select the Location where the entry is being recorded or create a new one, and save the entry in your Database. These saved entries are referred to as Sites.
- In the Classic Interface there are some fields that are required to be filled in such as the Start Date, the End Date and the Partner.
